Fifth-ranked Rouge et Or (3-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Redmen (11-4) in Montreal, QC on Thursday. Redmen managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 25-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vincent Dufort (195) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Bermudas guard Tejour Riley (193-94) who added 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Redmen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Antoine Beaumier with 19 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian forward Boris Hadzimuratovic (204-91, college: High School) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Redmen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-4 record. Rouge et Or lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Redmen are looking forward to face Citadines (#4) in Montreal, QC in the next round. Rouge et Or will play at home against Stingers in Montreal, QC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
