Leader Grindavik delivered the fourteenth win on Thursday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Skallagrimur (6-11) 107-65. The game without a history. Grindavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Skallagrimur only scored one point from the stripe. Grindavik forced 19 Skallagrimur turnovers and outrebounded them 51-34 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. American guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) produced 23 points and 4 assists and center Hordur Hreidarsson (203-88) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grindavik (14-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Skallagrimur lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Grindavik are looking forward to face Stjarnan (#5) on the road in the next round. Skallagrimur will play against Keflavik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
