There was no surprise when 10th ranked Tindastoll (5-12) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Keflavik (12-5) 93-78. Tindastoll was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Keflavik made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Keflavik outrebounded Tindastoll 49-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. Keflavik's coach Sigurour Ingimundarson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward George Valentine (203, college: Winthrop) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Drew Gibson (188-85, college: Wofford) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Tindastoll. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Keflavik. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Thor Thorl. Tindastoll at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with KFI. Keflavik will play against Skallagrimur (#8) in Borgarnes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tindastoll will play at home against the league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur and hopes to get back on the winning track.
