Bottom-ranked Ourinhos (0-5) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Maranhao (4-2) 80-56 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Maranhao led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ourinhos' 34. They outrebounded Ourinhos 47-32 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international center Damiris Do Amaral (192-92) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Maranhao's coach Hebert Lima felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. International point guard Joice Rodrigues (168-86) produced 22 points and the former international power forward Karina Jacob (187-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Maranhao maintains third place with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Recife. Loser Ourinhos still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Guarulhos.
