Everything went according to plan in Valladolid where twelfth ranked Unicaja Malaga (10-12) beat 14th ranked Blancos de Rueda (8-14) 89-84. Blancos de Rueda was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 50-37 second half run of Unicaja Malaga. They outrebounded Blancos de Rueda 31-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international center Fran Vazquez (209-83) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Unicaja Malaga's coach Jasmin Repesa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game.
