Regular Season Round 23: La Rochelle - Quimper 73-60

The game between third ranked Quimper UJAP (14-6) and sixth ranked La Rochelle (13-8) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Quimper UJAP was defeated by La Rochelle in La Rochelle 73-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimper UJAP. The game without a history. La Rochelle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. La Rochelle forced 20 Quimper UJAP turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Naturalized Madagascar swingman Amy M'Boma (199-83) helped adding 24 points. Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) scored 16 points. Newly promoted La Rochelle maintains sixth place with 13-8 record. Quimper UJAP at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Cognac and Souffel. La Rochelle are looking forward to face league's second-placed Orchesien BC in Orchies in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimper UJAP will play at home against the league's leader JA Vichy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
