Regular Season Round 25: Znicz Basket - Stal Ostrow 82-74

There was an upset in Pruszkow where higher ranked Stal Ostrow (13-12) was defeated by twelfth ranked Znicz Basket (12-13) 82-74 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Stal Ostrow won third quarter 28-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Dominik Czubek (178-75) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Lukasz Olejnik (203-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (185-88) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Znicz Basket moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Polonia. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Znicz Basket will face higher ranked WIKANA Start (#10) in Lublin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
