The most important game in the last round took place in Seu D'urgell between third ranked Argon Uni Girona (11-5) and fifth ranked Cadi ICG S. (8-8) on Saturday night. Argon Uni Girona was crushed by Cadi ICG S. on the road 52-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Argon Uni Girona. The game was mostly controlled by Cadi ICG S.. Argon Uni Girona managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Argon Uni Girona 36-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) replied with 12 points and forward Anna Carbo (176-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 7 points in the effort for Argon Uni Girona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cadi ICG S. maintains fifth position with 8-8 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Cadi ICG S. are looking forward to face Hondarribia-Irun (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Argon Uni Girona will play against Navarra Pamplona (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
