Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Perugia (6-18) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Castelletto (14-10) 79-72. Castelletto outrebounded Perugia 43-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Perugia was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) notched 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Marco Ceron (195-92) supported him with 21 points. Even 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Davide Poltroneri (195-85) did not help to save the game for Perugia. Center Paolo Chiarello (204-78) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Four Perugia players scored in double figures. Castelletto moved-up to third place. Perugia at the other side keeps the eighteenth position with 18 games lost. Castelletto will play against bottom-ranked Bologna (#19) in Ozzano Emilia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Perugia will play at home against Mirandola and hopes to get back on the winning track.
