Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (7-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Hapoel Eilat (11-7) 76-59. Hapoel Tel-Aviv was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 42-20 second half run of Hapoel Eilat. They outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 38-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Power forward Eli Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Jerome Tillman (198-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat's coach Oded Katash allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points and 5 assists by point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) added 12 points. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel J-M and Maccabi Haifa. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Galil Gilboa and Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Eilat will play against GreenTops Netanya (#5) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tel-Aviv Maccabi T-A.
