Regular Season Round 38: Tokyo Cinq R. - Shinshu BW 78-69

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Shinshu BW (16-20) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (13-22) 78-69 on Sunday. Tokyo Cinq R. made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Tokyo Cinq R. outrebounded Shinshu BW 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) responded with 22 points and power forward Michael Fey (213-83, college: UCLA) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Tokyo Cinq R. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Takamatsu FA. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh position with 20 games lost. Tokyo Cinq R. will face higher ranked Chiba Jets (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
