Regular Season Round 30: Uppsala - Eagles 89-77

There was no surprise when 11th ranked White Eagles (5-25) were defeated on the road by third ranked Uppsala Basket (22-8) 89-77 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-77. Uppsala Basket outrebounded White Eagles 43-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. White Eagles were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Thomas Jackson (175-80, college: Butler) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. Uppsala Basket's coach Kelly Grant used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Brandon McKnight (188-83, college: Purdue) who recorded 20 points and Latvian forward Agnis Cavars (196-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Uppsala Basket moved-up to second place. White Eagles lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eleventh position with 25 games lost. Uppsala Basket will face bottom-ranked Eco Orebro (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. White Eagles will play against Norrkoping Dolphins in Norrkoping.
