Date: February 24, 2013
There was no surprise when 14th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (9-14) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Lucca (13-11) 63-52. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Lucca made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Naturhouse Ferrara turnovers. Naturhouse Ferrara was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Davide Parente (188-83) notched 13 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Andrea Barsanti (189-86) supported him with 16 points. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by guard Gabriele Spizzichini (194-92) did not help to save the game for Naturhouse Ferrara. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lucca moved-up to seventh place. Naturhouse Ferrara at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Lucca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Naturhouse Ferrara will play at home against Treviglio (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
