Everything could happen in Rishon Le-Zion at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon and 7th ranked Bnei Hasharon had identical 8-9 record. This time Maccabi Rishon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Hod Hasharon 88-82. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Maccabi Rishon brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) supported him with 20 points. Maccabi Rishon (9-9) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Netanya. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Maccabi Rishon will play against league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bnei Hasharon will play against Maccabi Haifa (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
