There was no surprise in Reykjavik where 11th ranked Fjolnir (4-14) was defeated by third ranked Thor Thorl (13-5) 105-93 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Thor Thorl. Fjolnir was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward David Jackson (201-88, college: Penn St.) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Christopher Smith (204-82, college: St.Edward's, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who recorded 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international forward Ingvaldur Hafsteinsson (200-81) added 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thor Thorl moved-up to second place, which they share with Snaefell. Fjolnir lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Thor Thorl will face Tindastoll (#9) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fjolnir will play on the road against Njardvik in Njardvik.
