Regular Season Round 19: Priolo - Cagliari CUS 75-55

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Cagliari CUS (3-13) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Priolo (6-9) 75-55 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Priolo's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-11 extending their advantage to 20 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Cagliari CUS's 18. They outrebounded Cagliari CUS 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Serbian forward Monika Veselovski (183-77) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Priolo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Swedish guard Elin Eldebrink (174-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American forward Melissa Goodall (189-89, college: Toledo) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Priolo maintains sixth place with 6-9 record. Loser Cagliari CUS keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Priolo will meet league's leader Familia Schio on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari CUS will have a break next round.
