The most shocking disappointment of round 5 was a home defeat of 4th placed Santo Andre (2-4) by fifth ranked Sao Jose (3-3) who outscored them by 18 points 86-68 in the game for the fourth place. The game without a history. Sao Jose led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Sao Jose outrebounded Santo Andre 44-32 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international center Nadia Calhado (193-89) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sao Jose's coach Carlos Lima used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Ega Garvao (185-77, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Jaqueline Silvestre (178-86) scored 13 points. Sao Jose moved-up to fourth place. Santo Andre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost.
