There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Takamatsu FA (13-22) beat at home 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (22-14) 93-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Takamatsu FA. Shiga L-Stars was better in second period 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Takamatsu FA made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. American power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Top Notch Sports) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Takamatsu FA maintains seventh position with 13-22 record, which they share with Tokyo Cinq R. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Takamatsu FA will face higher ranked Iwate Big Bulls (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shiga L-Stars will play against Shinshu BW in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
