Regular Season Round 26: Basquete Cearense - Brasilia 100-104 OT

Tenth-ranked SKY/Basquete (11-13) made lots of trouble for second ranked Brasilia (20-4) in Aldeota on Tuesday. The visitors from Brasilia managed to secure only four-point victory 104-100. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 26-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-7. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) who scored 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Andre Bresolin (195-87) produced 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Brasilia and four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Brasilia have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 20-4 record having four points less than leader Flamengo. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Brasilia will face Winner/Limeira (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SKY/Basquete will play against Joinville.
