Regular Season Round 19: Snaefell - Keflavik 79-77

The most exciting game of round 19 in the Express L. took place in Stykkisholmur. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Keflavik (12-7) to third ranked Snaefell (14-5) 79-77 on Thursday evening. Keflavik was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of Snaefell, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Italian forward Ryan Amoroso (205-85, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St., agency: Pro One Sports) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Billy Baptist (196-87, college: Quincy) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) added 13 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Keflavik. Keflavik's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Snaefell moved-up to second place, which they share with Thor Thorl. Keflavik at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Stjarnan. Snaefell is looking forward to face Skallagrimur (#8) in Borgarnes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Keflavik will play at home against the league's second-placed Thor Thorl (#2) in Thorlakshofn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
