Regular Season Round 19: IR - KFI 95-86 OT

Bottom-ranked IR managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses. This time they won against tenth-ranked KFI in Reykjavik 95-86. The hosts were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They eventually won an overtime period 19-10. IR made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. KFI was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree) who led his team to a victory scoring 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Serbian-Canadian forward Nemanja Sovic (198-77, college: Pfeiffer) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four IR players scored in double figures. IR's coach Jon Arnar Ingvarsson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall) responded with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import Tyrone Bradshaw (202-86, college: S.Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. IR (5-14) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated KFI. KFI lost fifth consecutive game. IR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Fjolnir.
