Express L. top team - Grindavik (15-4) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked KR (10-9) 100-87. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. KR managed to win second period 30-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KR 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a quality performance for American point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) accounted for 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Martin Hermannsson (190-94) came up with 22 points and guard Kristofer Acox (195-93, college: High School) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for KR in the defeat. Five KR players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-4 record. Loser KR keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Njardvik. Grindavik will meet KFI (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KR will play against Stjarnan (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
