There was no surprise in Rustavi where 7th ranked TSU (5-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Energy Invest (12-3) 86-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Energy Invest. TSU managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energy Invest dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TSU's 32. Energy Invest forced 19 TSU turnovers and had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Nate Bowie (183-86, college: Cent.Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 7 assists and 6 steals and the other American import forward Kyle Nelson (203-89, college: Augustana, IL, agency: N.E.T.) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Serzhi Aselaini (198-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Giorgi Tetelashvili (192-92) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Energy Invest maintains fourth position with 12-3 record. TSU lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Energy Invest will meet Sokhumi (#8) in the next round. TSU will play against Batumi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
