Regular Season Round 20: Alvik Basket - BG Lulea 85-59
Date: March 2, 2013
No shocking result in a game in Bromma where sixth ranked Alvik Basket (9-10) outleveled 11th ranked BG Lulea (3-17) 85-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Alvik Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BG Lulea's 36. Alvik Basket forced 23 BG Lulea turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jakob Andersson (196, college: Allan Hancock CC) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Marten Melinder (194-92) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Marcus Flink (190-94) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Marcus Grahn (183-95) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvik Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Alvik Basket maintains sixth position in North with 9-10 record. Loser BG Lulea keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Alvik Basket will face higher ranked Umea (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BG Lulea will play against KFUM Uppsala (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
