Regular Season Round 24: Challans - Sorgues 85-74

We should mention about the upset which took place in Challans, where higher ranked Sorgues (10-11) lost to fourteenth ranked Vendee Challans (7-14) in a road game 74-85. It looked good early as Sorgues took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vendee Challans had a 22-17 second period charge getting the lead and Sorgues was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-85. Vendee Challans players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by guard Johan Rathieuville (177-85) who scored that evening 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 9 rebounds by forward Cedric Mansare (195-85) did not help to save the game for Sorgues. point guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) added 20 points. Vendee Challans maintains fourteenth position with 7-14 record. Sorgues lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 11 games lost. Vendee Challans' next round opponent will be higher ranked Saint Chamond (#13) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
