Not a big story in a game in Salamanca where 6th ranked Jopisa Burgos (7-10) was rolled over by second ranked Perfumerias Avenida (13-3) 83-60 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Perfumerias Avenida made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Jopisa Burgos turnovers and outrebounded them 42-21 including a 27-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. International point guard Marta Xargay Casademont (181-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Perfumerias Avenida players scored in double figures. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Victor Antonio Lapena felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Berta Chumillas (173-90) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Perfumerias Avenida maintains second place with 13-3 record having four points less than leader Rivas Ecopolis. Loser Jopisa Burgos keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face Navarra Pamplona (#5) on the road in the next round. Jopisa Burgos will play against Argon Uni Girona and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
