Very expected game when 18th ranked Suzano (4-21) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (16-11) 89-74 on Monday. The game without a history. Sao Jose/Vinac led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Suzano's players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Jefferson Antonio (207-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Dede Stefanelli (196-84) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Sao Jose/Vinac's coach Regis Marrelli used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Paulo Nery (188-81) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jefferson Campos (190-91) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Sao Jose/Vinac. They maintain seventh place with 16-11 record. Suzano lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Sao Jose/Vinac will face Paulistano (#8) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Suzano will play at home against Uberlandia (#3).
