NBB top team - Flamengo (25-2) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Mogi (10-16) in Mogi das Cruzes 86-64. The game without a history. Flamengo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Flamengo had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. International swingman Vitor Benite (190-90) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Thomas Gehrke (203-82, college: UTEP) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Babby Araujo (211-80, college: BYU) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Mogi's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Flamengo. They maintain first place with 25-2 record. Loser Mogi keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Flamengo will face Paschoalotto/Bauru (#5) at home in the next round. Mogi will play against Pinheiros (#6) in Sao Paolo.
