Bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the ten-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Maccabi K/G outleveled thirteenth-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik in Kiryat Gat 74-48. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference suggests that Maccabi K/G is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Kiryat Bialik's 24. Maccabi K/G forced 23 Maccabi Kiryat Bialik turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import swingman Muhammad El Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: Two Points) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Maccabi K/G's coach Roni Tzukerman felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American Sean Labanowski (205-92) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Kiryat Bialik. Maccabi K/G (4-16) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kiryat Tivon. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Maccabi K/G will play against Kiryat Tivon (#13) in Kiryat Tivon in the next round. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik will play at home against Ironi Ramat Gan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
