Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Toulouse (9-12) smashed on the road 13th ranked Arras (5-16) 64-45 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-45. Toulouse dominated on the defensive end, holding Arras to just 4 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Toulouse forced 23 Arras turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Toulouse especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Guard Julie Legoupil (173-84) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 assists for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Inesa Visgaudaite (172-91) chipped in 13 points. The best for the losing side was American point guard Dawn Evans (170-89, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Toulouse moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Villeneuve and Aix-en-Provence. Arras lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Toulouse will face Charleville-Mezieres (#11) on the road in the next round. Arras will play against Perpignan.
