Regular Season Round 27: Minas - Vila Velha 95-72

Date: March 7, 2013
Very predictable result in Belo Horizonte where ninth ranked Minas (14-12) smashed 15th ranked Vila Velha (8-18) 95-72 on Thursday. The game without a history. Minas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Minas made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American center Paul Crosby (203, college: Miss.Valley St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Minas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Daniel Costa (204-81) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard James Parker (188-81, college: Robert Morris) scored 20 points and 6 blocks. Minas maintains ninth place with 14-12 record. Vila Velha lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
