Regular Season Round 27: Tijuca TC - Bauru 71-79

There was no surprise in Rio de Janeiro where 17th ranked Tijuca TC (4-22) was defeated by sixth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (16-9) 79-71 on Thursday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-9. But Tijuca TC won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tijuca TC 40-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for international guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. American forward DeAndre Coleman (201-86, college: S.Alabama) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Rashaun McLemore (195-86, college: CS Northridge) with 22 points and guard Marcellus Camara (190-88) scored 15 points. Tijuca TC's coach Miguel da Luz tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pinheiros/Sky. Tijuca TC lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom. Paschoalotto/Bauru will face league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tijuca TC will play at home against Liga Sorocaba (#11) in Sorocabana.
