Very predictable result when fourth ranked Gescrap BB (15-9) won against 15th ranked Blancos de Rueda (9-15) in Bilbao 87-81. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Blancos de Rueda was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 29-16 third quarter run of Gescrap BB. The best player for the winners was Greek guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nacho Martin (205-83) who recorded 20 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Jordi Grimau (195-83) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Gescrap BB and four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. Gescrap BB moved-up to third place, which they share with FCB Regal. Blancos de Rueda at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Gescrap BB's next round opponent will be Asefa Estudiantes (#9) in Madrid where they are favorite. Blancos de Rueda will play at home against Assignia Manresa (#18).
