Very predictable result when second ranked AO Ellinikou (17-3) won against 9th ranked Terpsithea (6-14) in Glyfadas 74-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AO Ellinikou. Terpsithea managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international forward Evina Stamati (181-84) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four AO Ellinikou players scored in double figures. AO Ellinikou's coach Eleni Kapogianni used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Michelle Harrison (190-87, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Terpsithea. Guard Alexia Botsari (178-83) added 12 points and 9 assists for the hosts. Newly promoted AO Ellinikou maintains second position with 17-3 record having just two points less than leader Panathinaikos, which they share with Athinaikos. Terpsithea lost fourth consecutive game. Terpsithea at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Olympiakos. AO Ellinikou will meet league's leader Panathinaikos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Terpsithea will play against Aris (#6) in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.
