Palmeiras' coach Arturo Alvarez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international power forward Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Five Palmeiras and four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Palmeiras have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Vila Velha. Loser Vivo/Franca dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Palmeiras will meet league's second-placed Brasilia on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vivo/Franca will play against Paulistano (#8) in Sao Paolo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
