We should mention about the upset which took place in Ourense, where higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-10) lost to thirteenth ranked Ourense (8-13) in a road game 66-74. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for Nigerian forward Andy Ogide (204-87, college: Colorado St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Anthony Winchester (193-83, college: W.Kentucky) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ourense moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Coruna and Planasa NV. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Ourense will play against higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Leyma Basquet in Coruna and hopes to get back on the winning track.
