The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Aishin Sea Horses as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aishin Sea Horses defeated 7th ranked Tochigi Brex in Kariya 66-55. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Tochigi Brex managed to win fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-88) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. The former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-British center Olumide Oyedeji (210-81) added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tochigi Brex lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 28 games lost. Tochigi Brex will play next round against Mitsubishi Dolphins trying to get back on the winning streak. Aishin Sea Horses will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Panasonic Trians in Osaka.
