There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Sokol Lancut (14-14) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Znicz Basket (14-14) 74-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Znicz Basket made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Sokol Lancut was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Dominik Czubek (178-75) who added 14 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side forward Damian Pieloch (195-89) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Michal Baran (185-80) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Four Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Znicz Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Sokol Lancut. Sokol Lancut lost fifth consecutive game. Znicz Basket will face higher ranked MKS DG (#3) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
