Regular Season Round 22: Gravelines - Poitiers 73-60

ProA top team - Gravelines-Dunkerque (16-6) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Poitiers (7-15) 73-60. The game was mostly controlled by Gravelines-Dunkerque. Poitiers managed to win second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gravelines-Dunkerque won last quarter 21-10. Strangely Poitiers outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 39-26 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) notched 20 points to lead the effort and center Ousmane Camara (202-89) supported him with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 9 rebounds by American-Italian guard Anthony Dobbins (194-81, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Poitiers. American forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque maintains first position with 16-6 record, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser Poitiers keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Nancy. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet Chorale de Roanne (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Poitiers will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#11) and hope to secure a win.
