The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (20-6) on the court of fifth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by SO Maritime Boulogne 86-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The game was mostly controlled by SO Maritime Boulogne. Pau-Lacq-Orthez managed to win second period 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SO Maritime Boulogne dominated on the defensive end, holding Pau-Lacq-Orthez to just 7 points in third quarter. Naturalized Senegalese forward Antoine Mendy (198-83) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Mory Correa (204-79, college: Wyoming) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SO Maritime Boulogne maintains fifth position with 16-10 record. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne are looking forward to face SPO Rouen (#6) on the road in the next round. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Saint-Quentin (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
