There was a minor upset when 10th ranked SKY/Basquete (11-15) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Winner/Limeira (12-15) 90-72. It looked good early as SKY/Basquete took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Winner/Limeira had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and SKY/Basquete was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-90. Winner/Limeira shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (182-86, college: Pittsburgh) who scored that evening 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center Guilherme Hubner (209-87) supported him with 16 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) by the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. The former international swingman Andre Bresolin (195-87) added 13 points and 5 assists for lost side. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Winner/Limeira moved-up to eleventh place. SKY/Basquete lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Winner/Limeira's next round opponent will be higher ranked Liga Sorocaba (#10) in Sorocabana and it may be quite challenging game. SKY/Basquete will play at home against Suzano in Sao Paulo.
