Regular Season Round 21: MKS Skierniew. - Trefl II Sopot 75-58

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Trefl II Sopot (9-8) lost to seventh ranked MKS Skierniew. (8-9) in Skierniewice 58-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by MKS Skierniew.. Trefl II Sopot was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 40-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. MKS Skierniew. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Trefl II Sopot's players. It was a good game for forward Mariusz Wojcik (197-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Mariusz Lapinski (194-82) contributed with 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Grzegorz Kulka (203-96) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and swingman David Brembly (197-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Trefl II Sopot. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MKS Skierniew. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Korsarz Gdansk and Handlopex AZS. Trefl II Sopot at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. MKS Skierniew. will face Korsarz Gdansk (#5) on the road in the next round. Trefl II Sopot will play against Notec in Inowroclaw.
