A2 top team - Filathlitikos (16-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Agia Paraskevis (9-10) 88-76. The game was mostly controlled by Filathlitikos. Agia Paraskevis managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Agia Paraskevis 38-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikos Gikas (186-91, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Giannis Adetokubo (206-94, agency: FCM) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Filathlitikos players scored in double figures. Guard Vangelis Tsiakas (194-81) answered with 25 points and forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Agia Paraskevis. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Filathlitikos have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Filathlitikos maintains first place with 16-3 record, which they share with Nea Kifisia. Agia Paraskevis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Pagrati. Filathlitikos is looking forward to face OFI (#12) in Heraklion in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Agia Paraskevis will play at home against Irakleio (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
