Regular Season Round 24: Marghera - Milano 50-63

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Milano (20-4) beat 5th ranked Marghera (14-10) in Venezia 63-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. Marghera was better in fourth quarter 14-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international forward Manuela Zanon (187-80) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Michela Frantini (175-83) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Milano players scored in double figures. Bulgarian swingman Daniela Georgieva (184-86) replied with 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Carla Fabris (185-86) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Marghera. Milano have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with San Martino. Loser Marghera keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Milano will face Biassono (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Marghera will play against San Salvatore (#11).
