NBL top team - New Zealand Breakers (23-3) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Melbourne Tigers (10-14) 79-74. It was a very good performance for American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized British guard Daryl Corletto (193-81) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Five New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. The former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) replied with 23 points and the former international power forward Matthew Burston (211-82) added 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Melbourne Tigers. New Zealand Breakers have an impressive 15-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-3 record. Melbourne Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. New Zealand Breakers will have a break next round. Melbourne Tigers will play on the road against Townsville Crocodiles (#7) in Wulguru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
