Regular Season Round 28: Stal Ostrow - AZS PP 69-77

An interesting game took place in Ostrow Wlkp. where higher ranked Stal Ostrow (14-14) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked AZS PP (7-20) 77-69. It looked good early as Stal Ostrow took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then AZS PP had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Stal Ostrow was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-77. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Adam Metelski (208-83, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 7 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. point guard Marcin Dymala (185-90) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Wojciech Zurawski (199-76) added 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Stal Ostrow. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted AZS PP maintains fifteenth position with 7-20 record. Stal Ostrow at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. AZS PP's next round opponent will be higher ranked WIKANA Start (#9) in Lublin and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
