Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Eilat (12-8) against eighth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (9-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Hapoel Eilat was defeated by Maccabi Ashdod in Ashdod 98-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Eilat. American players dominated the game. Five Maccabi Ashdod and four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat's coach Oded Katash tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Maccabi Ashdod moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Newly promoted Hapoel Eilat dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will play against league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
