The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Gunma's (9-31) road loss to tenth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (7-33) 65-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Miyazaki Shining Suns. Gunma was better in third quarter 20-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Kyohei Ito (175-88) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Miyazaki Shining Suns players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Gunma's coach Ryan Blackwell tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Miyazaki Shining Suns maintains tenth position with 7-33 record. Gunma lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 31 games lost. Miyazaki Shining Suns will face Saitama Broncos (#10) on the road in the next round. Gunma will play against the league's second-placed Shimane Magic where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
