Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Lottomatica Roma and one of their biggest challengers Montepaschi Siena had identical 14-7 record. But Montepaschi Siena was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Roma 94-70 on Monday night. The game without a history. Lottomatica Roma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lottomatica Roma outrebounded Montepaschi Siena 42-22 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jordan Taylor (185-89, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Nigerian power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) replied with 15 points and 7 assists and Estonian Kristjan Kangur (201-82) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Montepaschi Siena. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lottomatica Roma have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Defending champion Montepaschi Siena dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Lottomatica Roma will face Umana Venezia (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Montepaschi Siena will play against Juvecaserta (#10) in Caserta.
