Regular Season Round 21: Hapoel Afula - Macc.B.Yaakov 113-116

A very interesting game took place in Afula. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Hapoel Afula (13-8) to eleventh ranked Beer Yaakov (7-14) 116-113 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Beer Yaakov made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jermaine Hall (196-80, college: Wagner) who scored 43 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who recorded a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and point guard Shmuel Brener (188-81, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Five Beer Yaakov and four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Beer Yaakov moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hapoel K/S. Hapoel Afula at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Beer Yaakov's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (#14) at home. Hapoel Afula will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba (#10).
